On March 16 and 17, 2023, Producer & Roaster Forum will return to El Salvador, where we hosted the very first PRF event.
The event is set to be hosted at the Salamanca Event Venue just outside of San Salvador. This is a professional event space which will feature dedicated sections for exhibitions, lectures, and workshops.
We’re now incredibly excited to announce that registration is now open for PRF El Salvador, and that Early Bird Tickets are available. These discounted price tickets will only be available until December 15th.
Read on to learn more about PRF El Salvador, how to get your tickets, and why you won’t want to miss out on this world-leading coffee industry event in Central America.

Why El Salvador?
El Salvador has a rich heritage of coffee production, and the country is home to around 15,000 producers. It is known for its excellent shade-grown arabica and a range of emerging experimental processing techniques.
Historically, El Salvador has been associated with two coffee varieties known for their quality. Pacas, a local mutation of Bourbon, is the first of these, which was used to create the second: this is a hybrid (Pacas and Maragogipe) known as Pacamara.
Specialty Pacamara often boasts notes of chocolate, butterscotch, red berries, and citrus, and is known for its medium to heavy body and creamy mouthfeel.
The majority of Salvadoran coffee is honey, natural or washed processed. Furthermore, a growing focus on quality and experimentation among farmers have helped Salvadoran coffee improve its standing on the international stage.
All of this makes El Salvador the ideal place to bring together industry leaders and coffee professionals.

What’s the purpose of PRF El Salvador?
Our vision is to cultivate long-term commercial relationships between global coffee experts in a coffee producing country; by hosting the event in El Salvador, we aim to champion Spanish-speaking Latin America as a hub of industry expertise and innovation.
This aim positions PRF as a specialized entry point into the market for exhibitors and professionals alike.
By hosting PRF in a producing country, we can make it inclusive. Its location encourages producers and other international coffee professionals to share knowledge, but puts producers at the center of the conversation and encourages them to take an active role.
This, in turn, gives producers, roasters, and green coffee buyers the platform they need to build valuable long-term sourcing relationships.
At the two-day forum, exhibitors will showcase their latest products, services, and innovations to thousands of attendees. At PRF Colombia, these included globally-recognized brands like Aillio, Toddy, GrainPro, and more.
Aside from exhibitors, PRF El Salvador will also feature hands-on activities in the form of workshops and cupping sessions. In the past, we’ve had the privilege of hosting major US and European roasters, including Mayorga Coffee (now a confirmed Diamond Sponsor for the next three years), Coffee Island, and Pact Coffee.
For roasters, an event like PRF in El Salvador provides the opportunity to learn more about coffee production in the country, and the chance to source some truly amazing coffees.
Ultimately, the knowledge shared each year at PRF through lectures and speakers is relevant to the coffee industry as a whole. In the video below, you can see an example of how PRF helps people share knowledge. This was Deiverson Migliatti’s speech at PRF Colombia:
Without a doubt, however, the biggest benefit is for businesses and professionals from the host country. Earlier this year, PRF provided a platform for Colombian coffee businesses – such as Cluster Café de Antioquia, Forest Coffee, and Pergamino – to celebrate the industry and its position on the international stage.
Furthermore, for coffee competitors or professionals looking to showcase their skills, we plan on hosting a range of coffee competitions, including the returning Barista Jam and Cold Brew Championship.

The purpose of the Sourcing Trip Experience is simple: to bring roasters and producers together so that they can build long-term sourcing relationships underpinned by first-hand experience.
The STE is totally separate from the forum itself, but the STE ticket does include free access to the two-day PRF event.
This unique, educational experience will see roasters and green buyers stay with coffee producers on coffee farms, with opportunities to learn more about the coffee their hosts produce through roundtable discussions, detailed in-depth tours, and plenty of other activities. Learn more here.
