WHEN & WHERE
The next Producer & Roaster Forum (PRF) will be held in Medellín, Colombia, on September 14 and 15, 2023.
WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE EVENT?
PRF is one of the foremost coffee events in the world, and every year, it seeks to connect coffee industry stakeholders at origin, with the aim of delivering real impact in the host country.
In essence, this means helping to build relationships across the supply chain and driving green coffee sales.
WHAT WILL THE SPEECHES & LECTURES COVER?
Lectures and speeches have been planned to be relevant for members of the global coffee community, with a focus on meeting coffee producers’ needs.
To ascertain which topics are most relevant, our team has worked closely with global experts and local partners.
We have also held an application and nominations process for speakers and workshops to ensure that the event will be inclusive and fully representative of the entire coffee community.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE PHYSICAL PRF IS CANCELLED?
We are in close contact with in-country partners in Colombia, and are monitoring local regulations and international health guidance every single day.
If things do change and the event is unable to take place due to local Covid-19 restrictions, we will reorganise a physical event at some point in the following six months.
To make sure prospective attendees and sponsors feel as comfortable as possible, we will provide regular updates on the situation and make sure everyone is fully briefed on any possible changes.
I WANT PRF TO TAKE PLACE IN MY COUNTRY – HOW CAN I LET YOU KNOW?
We’re always looking for new potential host countries for future PRF events. If you want us to host PRF in your country, email our Director, Julio Guevara, here.
HOW DO YOU SUPPORT PRODUCERS?
As with previous events, PRF Colombia 2023 will be built around producers’ needs. First and foremost, the aim of the event is to drive green coffee sales and generate income for Colombian coffee producers.
Alongside this, we also provide simultaneous translation for lectures and speeches in English, so that Spanish-speaking coffee producers will be able to understand them and make use of the key takeaways.
We also run a number of other producer-focused initiatives for PRF. One of the best examples of this is a means-tested scholarship programme. Under this, we sponsor producers and cover the cost of their travel, accommodation, food, and so on, making sure they can attend PRF and capitalise on the opportunities offered by the event.
