ORIGIN TRIP SCHEDULE

The PRF Origin Trip Experience will connect roasters with Colombian coffee producers for three unforgettable days before they travel together to the forum in Medellín.

As part of the experience, roasters will stay with coffee producers at their farms. They will learn everything about the coffee their host grows while experiencing the beautiful Colombian countryside firsthand.

At the end of this three-day experience, the roasters and their hosts will travel together to the two-day Producer & Roaster Forum event in Medellín.

The hope is that this experience helps the roasters and producers to learn more about one another and form the foundation for a mutually beneficial trade relationship in the future.

The dates we have set for the Origin Trip Experience are from June 26th to June 29th. At the end of this three-day experience, the roasters and their hosts will travel together to the two-day Producer & Roaster Forum event in Medellín on June 30th and July 1st.

Guests on the OTE trip will be staying in a hotel, nearby to local coffee farms and mills. You’ll be staying in your own comfortable, clean and private room.

The OTE Hosts will manage all transport for guests during the OTE trip, including airport pick-up and transport to the hotel.

On each day of the OTE, you’ll be picked up from the hotel to visit neighboring coffee farms, mills and other facilities involved in the production of coffee. When the OTE trip is over, transport will be arranged to travel to PRF Colombia in Medellín.

Each of the OTE Hosts either speak English, or will have staff on hand to help with translations as you visit farms, mills, washing stations and more.

Based on your specific sourcing needs and interest, we will match you with an OTE Host, who will take care of you throughout the 4-day period. Each host takes care of at least 15 international coffee roasters from across the world. We will confirm your host on June 1st. The majority of hosts are based in Antioquia and work with producers from across Colombia’s coffee-growing regions. Should you be lucky enough to travel and/or fly to different coffee-growing regions during your OTE, this is included in your ticket price.

Each visiting guest on the OTE trip will have their own private bathroom, and will not have to share with other guests. When staying in Medellín for PRF Colombia, guests will also have their own private facilities at the hotel.

For the two days at PRF Colombia, guests will be staying in a comfortable hotel in the city of Medellín. This will be located in close proximity to the forum itself, and you’ll have a range of facilities available to you in the accommodation, including Wi-Fi and a private bathroom.

Colombia is a safe and welcoming country for travelers. During both the OTE and PRF, you will be accompanied by hosts, other visitors and members of PRF Colombia, so you can expect to feel comfortable and safe.
