Ally Coffee is a green coffee company that connects roasters with specialty coffees from all around the world. As part of its strategy, the company also provides support and education to all the members of the coffee supply chain.

We spoke with the Ally Coffee team, PRF 2021 Bronze Sponsor, to learn more about their current and upcoming projects, as well as more about how they support both producers and roasters. 

WHAT IS ALLY COFFEE LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2021?

We look forward to continually fostering relationships in the coffee community, whether that is with producing partners, roasting companies, or the many organizations connecting us together. 

We’ve been inspired by these groups over the past year, as we needed to re-evaluate how we collaborate and connect. This pushed us to discover new ways to continue our purpose, and to open up opportunities that move coffee forward. 

We are also looking forward to revisiting the projects put on hold in 2020, and hope to be able to share them with you all in the year to come!

TELL US MORE ABOUT ALLY COFFEE’S ROLE IN THE WIDER COFFEE SUPPLY CHAIN. 

The short answer is that we are a green coffee company connecting roasters of all sizes with green coffee sourced from producer partners. 

As a connective business, we work with both the agricultural and the consuming sides of the supply chain. We have sales and sourcing offices in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Europe, United Arab Emirates, and the United States, allowing us to serve markets throughout North America, Europe, MENA, and Asia. 

In addition to quality control, logistics, and customer service, we want to be a voice in this industry that shares knowledge and provides learning opportunities to coffee professionals throughout the greater supply chain.

HOW DOES ALLY COFFEE SUPPORT ROASTERS AS A SOURCING PARTNER?

Through our sourcing offices in Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil, and Ethiopia, we can be in daily contact with producers, millers, and exporters and ensure quality through to shipment.

This also allows us to swiftly receive and evaluate sampĺes right as they come off the drying beds and patios. We can share these samples with roasters early on so they won’t miss out on any coffee that may fit their needs. 

Finally, roasters can rest assured that we maintain an open, equitable, and collaborative relationship with each of our producing partners. 

HOW DOES ALLY COFFEE SUPPORT PRODUCERS TO ESTABLISH BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS?

When starting a new relationship or further building a long-standing relationship, we strive to maximize the potential of coffee producers in every possible way. 

Whether this is through logistical support for well-established producers or market penetration for new players entering the market, we aim to help producers get the most out of their harvest and do it on their terms.

Coffee producers can count on us to be honest and transparent about every step in the process. We provide rapid turnaround when receiving and cupping samples, and supply full results to producers. We also advise on strategies and market developments. People can count on us to take them to the next level.

We’re excited to have launched this online platform! Ally Open was developed with three main purposes: to offer a curated selection of green coffee in 25lb and 50lb boxes, to provide courses and learning opportunities, and to share our growing blog filled with stories, resources, and insights from the coffee community. 

Ally Open was created for coffee professionals throughout the industry, and especially for emerging roasters who are starting their careers or building their own business. We have been adding new coffees seasonally, providing a selection of year-round offerings and limited lots, and have also been working on developing more learning materials and video courses to share this year!
